Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a minimum of 2 years of critical care experience and an active SC or compact RN license for a night shift assignment.

Job Details

• Work in the ICU of a hospital setting,
• Patient ratio of 1:2,
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM),
• Weekend shifts required,
• Required to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals if needed,
• Epic charting system preferred,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in South Carolina (Standard or Compact) required at time of consideration, no pending licenses accepted,
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS,
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required,
• Prior travel nursing experience required,
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred,
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response,
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure,
• Proficient in IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care,
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips,
• Skilled in BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients,
• Experience interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs),
• Proficient in suctioning (ETT, NT),
• Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and PPE use,
• Two supervisory references required,
• Copy of certifications required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to ICU patients, including cardiac, respiratory, and multisystem support,
• Expect to work some holidays during the assignment,
• RTO should be kept to a minimum, with no time off preferred during the first two weeks of the assignment or full calendar weeks off during the assignment,
• Any RTO must be approved and documented prior to the start of the assignment,
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,
• Local candidates accepted at local rate,
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate,
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 5 years to be eligible to return as a traveler
