Role Description The Registered Nurse at Missouri Eye Institute is a full-time, on-site role based in Joplin, MO. This team member provides direct patient care before, after, and during ophthalmic procedures, including pre-operative assessments, medication administration, OR Circulator, and post-operative monitoring and education. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with surgeons and clinical staff, preparing patients, documenting in the electronic medical record, and reinforcing safety and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri and current BLS certification
• Experience in perioperative, ambulatory surgery, or ophthalmology care settings
• Strong patient assessment, clinical judgment, and care coordination skills
• Proficiency with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Effective communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills in a multidisciplinary environment
• Commitment to patient safety, infection control, and adherence to clinical protocols
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and maintain composure in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Willingness to learn new ophthalmic procedures and technologies; prior eye care experience is a plus
