As a CAVA Quality Assurance Technician, you will be responsible for executing and enforcing daily quality-based tasks that are instrumental to maintaining CAVA's quality. Our Quality Assurance Technicians adhere to all plant GMP's and lead others by example through following very important FSQA behaviors. This position will report directly to the Food Safety and Quality Manager, offers limited overtime, and requires some scheduling flexibility.What You'll Do:Administers Equipment and Sensory based Quality Assurance checks (pH, temperature, titrations, inspections, taste/visual checks, verification checks, etc)Conducts ATP, Allergen and Environmental SwabbingEvaluates raw materials to ensure Quality Control standards for ingredients and packagingObserves and reviews production practices and behaviors to verify adherence to proceduresWorks closely with production staff to implement holds, corrective actions and document processesAssists management to develop and review SOP'sManages sample submissions to outside lab and tracks results for anomaliesConducts quality-based training with assistance from managementContributes insight and feedback to management team to improve upon current processesExecutes additional projects and tasks as assigned by the Food Safety and Quality ManagerAssists the production department in order to meet yield demandsThe Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in food science, Chemistry or other science preferred1+ years of experience in the food manufacturing industryExperience in Quality Assurance is a plusPossess exceptional analytical skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skillsMust have strong communication skills, both verbal and writtenMust be comfortable with Microsoft Office SuiteMust have excellent organization skillsMust be self-driven and able to work independently to deliver results in a timely mannerMust have familiarity with Food Safety plansHACCP plan experience desiredPhysical Requirements:Must be able to work in a cold environment, standing and walking up to 75%Physical ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computerMust be able to learn and operate basic production and sanitation equipmentMust be able to operate a computer and other office equipmentMust be able to identify, assess and observe detailMust be able to occasionally push, pull, lift or carry up to 50 poundsMust be able to roll 500 lb bowls of productNeed to have good dexterity and possess abilities to make critical sensory observationsAbility to work around chemicals such as chlorine and/or other sanitizersAbility to see, hear, and speak regularlyAbility to squat, kneel, bend and twist occasionallyAbility to work in a constant state of alertness and safe mannerWhat we offer:Competitive salary, plus bonus and short-term incentives*Accrued PTO, limited paid parental leave, plus paid opportunities to give back to the communityHealth, Dental, Vision, Telemedicine, Pet Insurance plus more!401k enrollment with CAVA contributionFree CAVA foodCasual work environmentThe opportunity to be on the ground floor of a rapidly growing brand*Indicates qualifying eligible positions onlyCAVA – Joining "A culture, not a concept"As an equal opportunity employer, CAVA considers applicants for all positions without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, disability, age, height, weight, marital status, sexual orientation, familial status, genetic information or any other characteristic or protected classes as defined by federal, state, or local law.
