Food Service Worker

The Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing, facilitating, and maintaining food programs and kitchen/cafeteria areas. Essential duties include performing tasks deemed necessary by the Director of Food Services to facilitate the provision of meals to students, food preparation, food service at meal times, operating a cash register, encouragement toward healthy eating, and clean up of any equipment and kitchen areas related to the preparation, serving and consumption of school meals according to the USDA Child Nutrition Program Regulations and HACCP procedures.

Qualifications include a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of weights, measures and portion control, ability to understand and follow performance directions, ability to successfully interact with students, ability to travel to various school district buildings as necessary, ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and specific vision abilities required by this job.
