A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DEADSTOCK DRIVER As a Deadstock Driver, you will be responsible for picking up dead hogs, cattle and meat scraps from farm sites on a daily route. Our customers range in size from farmers to feedlots to large-scale slaughterhouses. Driving a straight truck or a tractor‑trailer, you will collect materials from multiple customers along your route each day. You will manage your route with an onboard computer (OBC) and also keep an up‑to‑date paper log for compliance purposes. Taking responsibility for your truck, you keep it clean and complete a vehicle condition report on a daily basis. You will provide exceptional professional service to all customers while following all laws & regulations. You will love getting to hit the road for a living while still being at home every night. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR A DEADSTOCK DRIVER Must be 21 years of age. Good driving record. Must have a high school diploma or GED. Must possess a valid Class A or B CDL driver's license. Must be registered on PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Prior route experience within a customer‑oriented environment preferred. Experience with truck hydraulics a plus. Communicates clearly in verbal and written form. Highly organized; superior time management skills. Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations; adaptable to changing situations. Ability to work well with internal staff and external customers. Ability to pass pre‑employment physical and drug screen. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to handle outside elements, summer heat and winter cold. Constantly required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch. Frequently required to sit for extended periods. Regularly required to reach with hands and arms. Occasionally push, pull, up to 100 lbs.
