MEDIA CLERK
JOB DESCRIPTION MEDIA CLERK (10 Month Position) SALARY: $27,833.00-$31,293.00 (or per the 2026-2027 Salary Schedule) QUALIFICATIONS:
(1) High School Diploma or equivalent.
(2) Experience in the area of employment.
(3) Secretarial skills training and have knowledge of a variety of office jobs.
(4) Or other appropriate certificates/licenses required by the District. Note: Beginning January 1, 2026, new hires must be screened through the Clearinghouse ( information on the Clearinghouse is available at ) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to work effectively with audio-visual materials and equipment. Ability to work cooperatively with others. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to assist with creative instruction and environmental enhancement. Knowledge of developmental stages in students. Flexibility. Ability or prioritize. Organizational skills. Ability to follow detailed instructions. REPORTS TO:

JOB GOAL
To perform assigned duties to ensure the library operation runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible. SUPERVISES:
N/A PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Service Delivery
* (1) Maintain all library patron records.
* (2) Report monthly circulation statistics to librarian and principal.
* (3) Maintain order of library shelves.
* (4) Maintain library computer program.
* (5) Process and circulate video requests from faculty.
* (6) Update magazine file for student and faculty use.
* (7) Repair damaged books.
* (8) Maintain the shelf file.
* (9) Provide secretarial services for media center including typing and processing orders.
*(10) Assist students and teachers in locating and using media resources.
*(11) Assist development of independent research skill in students.
*(12) Assist with schedule and operation of audio-visual equipment, TVs / VCRs.
*(13) Process new resources for circulation.
*(14) Assist with supervision of media students and school volunteers.

*(15) Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
*(16) Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.
*(17) Model and maintain high ethical standards.
*(18) Follow attendance, punctuality and proper dress rules.
*(19) Maintain confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters.
*(20) Participate successfully in the training programs offered to increase the individual's skill and proficiency related to the assignment.
Inter/Intra-Agency Communications
*(21) Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff and administration.
*(22) Keep supervisor informed of potential problems or unusual events.
*(23) Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
System Support
*(24) Operate circulation desk and maintain circulation records with required computer skill.
*(25) Maintain knowledge of Media Center procedures.
*(26) Assist in maintaining materials and equipment in working order.
*(27) Assist with inventory of materials and equipment.
*(28) Maintain Accelerated Reader and produce reports.
*(29) Maintain files.
*(30) Exhibit interpersonal skills to work as an effective team member.
*(31) Demonstrate support for the school and its goals and priorities.
(32) Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.
(33) Shall assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan.
Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel. Job Description Supplement No. 03
