Maintenance Technician

Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Livonia, Michigan . Overview The maintenance technician will perform general maintenance tasks including plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, office furniture assembly, heating, ventilation, routine inspections, and groundskeeping to support facility operations. Responsibilities Provide maintenance support such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical low voltage, door hardware, office furniture assemblies, and heating, ventilation, and routine inspections Perform minor groundskeeping and equipment troubleshooting Perform manual labor tasks and support team members during jobs Identify hazards to ensure safety of personnel and equipment Communicate issues with leadership Perform shop clean-up and other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent level of education Minimum six months facilities maintenance experience or equivalent in class instruction Able to solve practical problems and diagnose basic plumbing, electrical, and equipment malfunctions Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measurement, including fractions Good verbal and written communication skills Basic skills in the use of power and hand tools Basic computer skills to enter information into data systems and research repair methods as needed Good driving record and reliable transportation Preferred Qualifications Skilled in the use of a forklift General maintenance experience Automotive electrical experience The details of the position are only a summary, other duties may be assigned as necessary.
