This is an excellent opportunity for CT Technologists looking for flexible per diem work

Position Details

• Position: CT Technologist
• Location: VA San Diego Healthcare System
• Schedule: Per Diem (Days, Evenings, Nights and Weekends) based on your availability, facility needs, and monthly scheduling.
• Pay Rate: $71.00
• Benefits: Available and customized to your individual needs as part of your compensation package

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required for Federal Employment (VA) positions.
• Minimum of two (2) years of current, consecutive CT experience; hospital experience is preferred.
• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Computed Tomography (CT) certification.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Demonstrated experience with IV insertion (venipuncture) and contrast media administration.
• Current Venipuncture/IV Certification required.
• Experience using PACS and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to caring for Veteran patients.
• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment and supplies in accordance with safe patient handling guidelines.

Responsabilities

• Operate CT equipment safely while adhering to departmental protocols and quality assurance standards
• Perform diagnostic CT examinations following physician orders and departmental guidelines.
• Prepare and position patients for CT scan procedures.
• Adhere to radiation safety standards, imaging protocols, and departmental policies.
• Administer IV contrast media in accordance with physician orders and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and PACS.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Provide compassionate, professional care to Veterans throughout the imaging process.
