Pay: $28.00-$30.00 per hour (DOE)

Shift Days: Mon-Fri

Shift Times: 8 hour day shifts.

Duration: 13 Weeks Initially

Location: Palo Alto, CA

Required

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved diploma school /institution or equivalent documented training required
• BLS - Basic Life Support required (AHA)
• Medical Assistant externship should be completed

Responsibilities

• Support providers and patients as part of the healthcare team.
• Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, medications, and allergies.
• Assist providers with examinations, procedures, injections, and immunizations.
• Perform basic clinical tests, EKGs, and specimen collection as required.
• Prepare exam rooms, equipment, supplies, and patient information.
• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and radiology services.
• Verify patient demographics, insurance, and required authorizations.
• Handle patient check-in/check-out, payments, and prescription refill requests.
• Document patient information and communications accurately in the EMR/EHR.
• Respond to patient questions and provide timely customer service.
• Communicate patient concerns and messages to providers or clinical staff.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked clinical areas.
• Coordinate patient care and assist with follow-ups as needed.
