Our client, EOC, Inc., is seeking a highly motivated Career Pathway Specialist to join our Workforce & Career Services team. This full-time position plays a critical role in delivering career development programming to adults and young adults. Specialists serve as Talent Coaches , helping participants explore career pathways, build skills, earn verifiable credentials, and successfully enter the Talent Marketplace.

 

This position is ideal for individuals passionate about education, workforce development, coaching, and helping diverse communities achieve long-term career success. Spanish bilingual ability is strongly preferred to support participants and families in the Wilkes-Barre and Hanover Area regions.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain participant caseloads aligned with Project Objectives ( Goal: 600 participants ).

  • Deliver the Agency's Spiral Curriculum , integrating Labor Market Information (LMI), WIOA guidelines, CliftonStrengths, and interest assessments.

  • Provide individualized and group-based career guidance.

  • Assist participants with:

    • Financial aid applications (FAFSA, state aid, scholarships)

    • Postsecondary applications (college, trade programs, apprenticeships)

    • Career literacy and workforce readiness

  • Manage badge and certificate completion within the Learning and Employment Record (LER) database to convert hands-on work into verifiable credentials.

  • Support the Career Exploration Program and Sustainability Project through workshops, hands-on activities, and virtual sessions.

  • Serve as a Talent Coach , preparing participants for job search, interviews, and entry into the Talent Marketplace.

  • Maintain accurate documentation in paper files and agency databases.

  • Represent the Agency at community events, partner meetings, and outreach activities.

  • Collaborate with team members to meet program goals and participant needs.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Counseling, Business, or related field (preferred).

  • A combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.

  • 2+ years experience working with adults and/or young adults in education, workforce development, coaching, or related programs.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments with competing priorities.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, and database systems.

  • Valid Driver's License, reliable transportation, and ability to travel within Wilkes-Barre and Hanover Area.

Preferred:

  • Spanish bilingual proficiency

  • Experience with financial aid processes, workforce development, or career coaching.

  • Familiarity with WIOA guidelines, LMI tools, and credentialing systems.

 

Working Conditions

  • Primary service locations: Wilkes-Barre and Hanover Area School Districts .

  • Work includes office-based appointments, school-based programming, community events, and virtual sessions.

  • Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required based on program needs.

 

Funding Notice

This position is funded through a 5-year federal grant beginning September 1, 2026 . Employment is contingent upon continued federal funding .
