Data Center Installation Technician

We are seeking an experienced Network Infrastructure professional to support complex data center and network deployment projects. This role requires a hands-on individual with strong technical skills, experience coordinating field activities, and the ability to ensure high-quality installations across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate onsite activities with field technicians, partners, and subcontractors.
• Review and interpret engineering documentation, slotting matrices, and cabling diagrams to ensure proper staging and installation.
• Conduct site surveys and identify any remediation requirements prior to deployment.
• Schedule and coordinate technicians supporting multiple projects.
• Partner with project management teams to execute installation activities and maintain project timelines.
• Provide guidance to field technicians on quality standards and installation procedures.
• Perform hardware validation, including Dead-on-Arrival (DOA) and Green Light testing.
• Conduct post-installation quality assurance and verify as-built documentation.
• Integrate infrastructure components based on engineering specifications.
• Enable console management access to support remote engineering teams.
• Perform physical installation activities including:
• Rack and stack of network equipment
• Device mounting and hardware placement
• Copper and fiber cabling
• Cable routing and management
• Fiber splicing and conduit installation
• Equipment unboxing and staging

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in data center, network infrastructure, or deployment environments.
• Experience coordinating field technicians and supporting multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong knowledge of structured cabling and fiber optic technologies.
• Familiarity with Cisco IOS, JunOS, and common networking protocols.
• Experience upgrading software and firmware on Cisco, Juniper, and similar network equipment.
• Hands-on experience with network implementations and support.
• Familiarity with wireless heat mapping tools such as Ekahau.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and communicate effectively with customers and technical teams.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and perform effectively in fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Data center deployment experience.
• BICSI Installer certification or equivalent knowledge.
• CompTIA Network+ and A+ certifications.
• CCENT or equivalent networking knowledge.
• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
