Introduction:

Bubany is a long-standing, locally owned building supply and hardware store located in Gallup, New Mexico. Serving Gallup and the surrounding region since 1929, Bubany is a trusted source for quality lumber, building materials, and home improvement supplies that caters to both professional contractors and do-it-yourself customers.

Role Overview:

As Inside Sales Associate you’ll be the friendly, knowledgeable face customers rely on for help with their building projects. Inside Sales provides in-store customer service and sales support for contractors, builders, and retail customers. This role requires strong product knowledge of lumber and building materials, the ability to process orders accurately, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. The associate works closely with yard staff, delivery drivers, and management to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Required: Driver’s License
• High School or equivalent
• Required: Previous experience in retail, contractor sales, and building materials
• Familiarity with forklifts and pallet jacks

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Greet customers and identify their needs, and recommend appropriate products.
• Answer phones, respond to other inquiries, and help resolve customer issues.
• Create quotes for contractors and homeowners, inform customer of lead times with special orders.
• Upsell complementary items such as fasteners, hardware, tools, and specialty products.
• Enter orders into POS, handle returns, exchanges and product inquiries.
• Assist in maintaining product displays and keeping the counter area clean and organized.
• Load materials onto customer vehicles or trucks for delivery using equipment when necessary.
• Operate machinery and equipment safely, following all company and OSHA guidelines.
• Support other departments as needed and with inventory control
• Collaborate with warehouse and delivery teams to ensure efficient workflow.
• Safe work practices and use of personal protective equipment.
• Clear communication and foster a cohesive and collaborative work culture.
• Exceptional customer service by maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, acknowledging all customers promptly.
• Protects the company’s value by keeping proprietary information confidential.
• Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by management

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

This role requires frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching (including above shoulder level), gripping, and carrying. Employees must be able to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and manipulate objects, as well as perform keyboarding tasks. Climbing stairs is required. The position requires the ability to lift and/or carry up to 30 lbs.

Work conditions may include exposure to dust, extreme weather conditions, and cryogenic liquids and gases. The employee must have adequate visual acuity, including near and far vision and depth perception, to safely perform job duties.

Work Hours and Environment:

This is a full-time position requiring availability Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, with rotating Saturdays, 8:00AM-2:00PM. The work environment is a dynamic retail setting with continuous customer interaction.

Rate of Pay: $14

Employment with Gallup Welder Supply is on an at-will basis. This means that either the employee or the Company may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or notice, in accordance with applicable New Mexico law.
