Front Office Associate

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Front Office Associate—temporary/PRN—to join our team. In this role you will provide patient and professional services by answering phones, scheduling appointments, and greeting, registering, and supporting patients in a cheerful and professional manner. Pay range: $18.00–$23.00 per hour, based on direct and relevant experience. Registration (55%) Greet and check‑in patients scheduled for imaging services; process payments and copays as needed. Answer phones and handle calls efficiently and friendly. Field phone calls appropriately for Center Team Members. Act as liaison between imaging technologists and patients waiting for exams, relaying scanner status and clinic information. Maintain organization of the front office lobby area and assist with general office cleanup. Maintain supply of patient information sheets. Complete patient appointment confirmation calls and provide preparation instructions. Fax/scan reports, billing information, and medical release forms as requested. Scheduling (20%) Enter and submit patient exam orders. Schedule referrals and ensure proper authorizations are obtained. Process requests for image orders and CDs from both referring physicians and patients. Insurance (20%) Verify patient insurance coverage. Pre‑certify all patient exams with the patient’s insurance company. Apply knowledge of insurance carriers (e.g., Medicare) and procedures that require waivers to obtain pre‑authorization, if needed, prior to appointments. Facilitate Release of Information (ROI) requests for patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys, and insurance companies following company guidelines. Other Tasks (5%) Complete other tasks and projects as assigned. Requirements Required: High School Diploma, or equivalent. One (1) year of customer service experience. Proficient in using computer systems and typing. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel. Preferred: Previous medical office experience. Medical terminology and office background. Insurance knowledge.
