Technical Director

Theatre Aspen is hiring one full-time, year-round technical leadership position, structured as either a Technical Director/Production Manager (Director of Production & Technical Operations) or a Technical Director, depending on the ideal candidate. The Technical Director/Production Manager carries both the hands-on technical work of building scenery and leading technical execution, and the administrative, budgetary, and logistical work of running our production department, including staffing, scheduling, and departmental budgets. Pay: $105,000-$115,000. The Technical Director focuses on the technical execution, maintenance, and long-term stewardship of our production facilities and performance venues, overseeing MainStage production realization and leading scenic construction for our education programming. Pay: $71,000-$80,000. Both configurations maintain our iconic tent theatre and serve as a key technical voice in planning our future $55 million permanent campus. Both require five or more years of relevant experience, strong scenic and rigging knowledge, and experience in outdoor or non-traditional venues, plus residency in or relocation to the Roaring Fork Valley (housing subsidy available).
