Shift Days Schedule 7:00am-3:00pm / 9:00am-5:00pm Job Summary The Clinical Pharmacist - Oncology Infusion supports pharmacy services within the Taussig Cancer Center, serving a high‑volume oncology patient population across inpatient, outpatient infusion, decentralized, and remote care settings. The role includes order verification, direct provider support, sterile compounding oversight, and oversight of two large‑scale chemotherapy robotics systems. Pharmacists rotate through responsibilities such as remote and floor‑based order verification, real‑time clinical triage, provider collaboration, in‑pharmacy operational support, IV robotics oversight, chemotherapy product verification, and quality assurance of sterile medication preparations. The position offers opportunities to cross‑train into inpatient oncology staffing and decentralized clinical coverage, providing broad professional development and exposure to diverse patient care environments. Responsibilities Provide safe, efficient, patient‑centered, evidence‑based medication services. Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations. Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner. Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives. Ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards. Direct staff appropriately to provide safe and efficient care and maintain professional working relationships with all caregivers. Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers and/or patients. Minimum Qualifications PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy. Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire. For individuals required to administer immunizations, Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days of hire. Preferred Qualifications Board Certification. Completion of a Post‑Graduate Year 1 Residency (PGY‑1), fellowship or relevant post‑graduate pharmacy experience. Post‑Graduate Year 2 residency (PGY‑2) or relevant experience preferred for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a specialized pharmacy practice area (Oncology). Hospital experience in an IV/clean room environment – strongly preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, approximately 75% of the shift. Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting as required. Normal or corrected vision. Ability to communicate verbally by phone or in person. Personal Protective Equipment Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
