Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Tele (Ortho)
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with expertise in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry, specifically in Orthopedics. The ideal candidate will have relevant clinical experience and a passion for providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Scheduling and Shift Details
Shift Hours: Night shifts, 4 shifts of 12 hours each (19:00 - 07:30)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, totaling 6 weekend shifts
Requests for Time Off (RTO) and Block Scheduling: All requests must be submitted for approval at the time of booking.
Call Off Policy: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.
First-Time Travelers Accepted: Yes
Local Candidates Accepted: Yes, refer to submittal instructions for radius criteria.
Pending License: Not accepted. Must possess an active SC or multistate license.
Charting Requirements
Candidates are required to have a minimum of 1 year of experience with EPIC for electronic charting.
Required Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Clinical Skills and Experience
Must have experience in Orthopedics.
Comfortable managing a variety of patient diagnoses including:
- Medical/Surgical conditions
- Telemetry and cardiac care
- Low-risk Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS)
- Transient Ischemic Attacks (TIAs)
- Diabetes, Hypertension, COPD
- Dehydration, Chest Pain, Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), Pulmonary Embolism (PE)
Unit Details
The Registered Nurse will be working in an adult 26-bed orthopedic spine unit specializing in various spinal surgeries, including laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies. The unit also integrates pain management, physical therapy, and mobility support into patient care.
Special Procedures
Ability to assist with special procedures such as:
- Bedside lumbar punctures
- Post-catheterization care (radial/femoral)
- Post-surgical care
- Post-renal biopsies
- CT Angiography
- Administration of Heparin drips
Floating Policy
While the organization will prioritize keeping nurses within their designated units, agency staff may be required to float to other units or facilities as needed, limited to areas where staff have documented competencies.
