Join us.Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAECOM is seeking an experienced Architecture Designer II for our Carolinas B+P group, based in the North Charleston, SC office to support advanced manufacturing and federal project types. This role provides architectural guidance, design development, and production support across a range of project delivery methods, working closely with senior staff and project teams from concept through construction administration.About Buildings + PlacesAECOM’s Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture. With a range of expertise from strategy and design through project realization, we create better outcomes to grow economies, protect natural systems, conserve natural resources, make societies more equitable and connect and engage people through innovative, sustainable design solutions.Our Carolinas B+P teams focus on providing design services in the Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics market, including logistics centers and industrial facilities, while also supporting a wide range of project types across the federal and private sectors.ResponsibilitiesThis position is responsible for initiating and developing design and construction document drawings through completion for assigned projects, in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project's discipline leaders.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.Preparing specifications, reports, and related data tables.Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may perform technical assignments of moderate complexity within approved schedules and budgets.May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/draftingDesign and production work, including architectural detailing through construction documents, using RevitPerform construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittalsPerform field verification and travel to project sites as needed (less than 10%)Perform QA/QC reviews when assigned.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Architecture plus two (2) years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationDemonstrated experience with AutoCAD and RevitDemonstrated experience with design solution development, building systems and detailing, applicable codes and life safety requirements, differing building types and project delivery methods, as well as programming and planning methodsDue to the nature of the work, candidates must be a United States CitizenPreferred Qualifications:Experience on federal projects with knowledge of the UFC and UFGSLEED credentialsEligibility for a U.S. Security clearanceDegree from a NAAB accredited programEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to prioritize and execute tasks accurately, effectively, and confidentlyAdditional InformationRelocation assistance is not available.Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this positionAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
