The Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and patient-facing responsibilities. This role supports patients throughout their visit by handling registration, insurance verification, scheduling, payment collection, and check-out procedures.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable multitasking in a busy healthcare environment. Success in this position requires strong communication skills, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to putting patients first.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Welcome patients and visitors in a friendly, professional manner
- Register patients and verify demographic and insurance information
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
- Collect copays, deductibles, outstanding balances, and other patient payments
- Schedule follow-up appointments accurately and efficiently
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions and requests
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, clinical staff, and other departments
- Deliver exceptional customer service while creating a positive patient experience
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Professional, dependable, and patient-focused attitude
- Customer service experience in a healthcare or medical office setting
- Experience with insurance verification, patient registration, scheduling, or payment collection
