Job Description

Job Summary:

Performs diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures to assist in patient evaluation under the supervision of a physician. Ensures high-quality imaging and accurate documentation to support clinical decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Conducts cardiac ultrasound exams according to established protocols and clinical instructions.
• Prepares and maintains ultrasound equipment, ensuring it is clean and functioning properly.
• Assists physicians during invasive ultrasound procedures as needed.
• Reviews patient information and orders to verify exam specifics and patient identification.
• Documents exam results thoroughly, including images, technical data, and relevant patient information.
• Adheres to safety protocols and maintains proper stock levels in exam areas.

Qualifications:

• Graduated from an accredited sonography program recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education.
• Certified in cardiac ultrasound by ARDMS or CCI within 12 months of employment.
• Maintains current NH State License and necessary credentials.
• Possesses effective communication skills for interactions with patients, staff, and physicians.
• Demonstrates physical ability to perform ultrasound exams involving standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
