Learn more at Job Description We are seeking a Structural Design Engineer who can contribute immediately to active projects with minimal ramp-up. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong technical foundation who is comfortable taking ownership of design tasks, working across multiple projects, and delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will play a key part in the execution of ongoing projects, contributing to both technical design and overall project delivery. You will work across multiple active projects, applying engineering judgment to real-world constraints including timelines, budgets, and coordination across disciplines. What You’ll Do Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of building projects Take ownership of design tasks across multiple active projects Prepare detailed calculations, reports, and construction documents Coordinate with architects, contractors, and internal teams to move projects forward efficiently Apply engineering judgment to meet project timelines and client expectations Support and mentor early-career engineers Participate in site visits, field coordination, and client interactions How You’ll Work Operate in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with multiple concurrent deadlines Collaborate closely with a lean, engaged team Balance independent work with team coordination Contribute to both technical execution and overall project flow What Makes This Role Unique Opportunity to step into active projects and make an immediate impact Exposure to a high volume and variety of work Ability to take on meaningful responsibility earlier than in more layered organizations Direct visibility into how engineering work connects to clients, budgets, and timelines Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred) At least 3 years of structural design experience Ability to contribute with minimal ramp-up Experience working on multiple concurrent projects Strong understanding of real-world project delivery EIT required; PE in progress or recently obtained preferred Proficiency in structural analysis/design software Experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD Strong communication skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment Physical Demands and Work Environment Computer-based work for prolonged periods during analysis, drafting, and documentation efforts Occasional field visits to construction sites requiring mobility and navigation of uneven terrain Light lifting of equipment or materials up to approximately 15 pounds Additional Information Why Join KPFF? Compensation and Benefits Compensation: The base salary for this role is competitive and will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, education, and skills. The expected range for a qualified candidate with at least 3 years of experience is $95,000-$120,000. Additionally, we offer performance-based bonuses to recognize and reward outstanding contributions in each Reporting Center.
