Maintenance Technician

Location: Columbus, OH — Onsite
Payrate: $26/Hr
Schedule: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing food processing and packaging equipment . This role supports product development, scale-up activities, and manufacturing operations by keeping equipment safe, reliable, and operating efficiently.

The Maintenance Technician will perform preventive and corrective maintenance , troubleshoot equipment issues, support equipment startups and changeovers, and help minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair pilot plant processing and packaging equipment .
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
• Diagnose equipment problems and complete repairs to minimize downtime.
• Support equipment startups, changeovers, commissioning, and installations .
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and equipment reliability projects.
• Follow required safety procedures, PPE requirements, and food industry standards .
• Work closely with operations, engineering, and other maintenance team members.

• Retorts
• Aseptic sterilizers
• Homogenizers
• High-shear mixers
• Processing vessels and tanks
• Heat exchangers
• Pumps and piping systems
• Conveyors
• Filling and packaging equipment
• Other food processing and utility equipment

Key Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance
• Hands-on experience with installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills
• Knowledge of industrial safety practices and regulatory requirements
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Comfortable working in a pilot plant/manufacturing environment
• Continuous improvement mindset

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to climb ladders and work in industrial environments.
• Ability to work in confined spaces when required.
• Ability to wear required PPE .
