Research Farm Technician

Title: Research Farm Technician
Location: 703 Nor-Am Road, Pikeville, NC 27863
Pay Rate: $30/HR
Responsibilities:

We are looking for a well-organized detail-oriented person to fill a temporary technician position.

Applicant should have the agricultural background necessary to assist in the successful completion of research trials.

Experience operating farm equipment is essential to this position.

Applicant must be willing to work extended hours when necessary from planting to harvest.

Good communication skills, verbal and written are required.

Must be a self-starter, able to work with a diverse group in a team environment and be able to finish tasks with limited supervision

Job type: Temporary position lasting from 6 to 9 months with possibility of extending contract.

Education: Associate (Minimum) Graduate student preferred. Agricultural, Science or Engineering.

Experience:
• Agriculture, 1 year
• Farm Machinery Operation. 1 year Responsibilities

:• Trial maintenance activities (Plot layout, stand counts, maintenance sprays, hand-weeding)
• Mixing and weighing chemicals
• Taking samples
• Irrigation (Set-up and maintenance)
• Assist with successfully completing regulatory trials in accordance with Stewardship and QMS requirements.
