Pharmacist in Retail Pharmacy | Hollister, California

A night shift position is available for a Staff Pharmacist in a retail pharmacy setting within a 250-bed community hospital that includes an outpatient pharmacy. This contract role is based near Salinas, CA, and offers a unique opportunity to work independently as the sole pharmacist overnight, supported by a pharmacy technician.


Location:

• Salinas, CA

Schedule:

• Night shifts, 7 days on, 7 days off
• Shift hours: 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM

Responsibilities:

• Manage all pharmacy operations during night hours, ensuring accurate dispensing and patient safety
• Collaborate effectively with pharmacy technicians and healthcare team members
• Utilize PioneerRX pharmacy software (EPIC experience is a plus)
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory and facility standards

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Active California pharmacist license
• Retail pharmacy experience, particularly in community or hospital outpatient settings
• Full-time availability and willingness to work night shifts
• Proficiency with PioneerRX, with preference given to candidates also familiar with EPIC
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

This engagement lasts approximately 13 weeks with an immediate start. The role requires autonomy and strong clinical judgment, given the solo pharmacist status during night shifts.
