Overview

Join our surgical services team as an Operating Room - Team Lead where you will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the OR while helping drive excellence in patient care staff development and specialty service line performance.

In this leadership-focused clinical role you will partner with the Director and Manager to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the Operating Room. Acting as a clinical resource and mentor for team members you will support best practices coordinate specialty-specific initiatives and maintain a high standard of surgical care. The Clinical Coordinator must be able to perform all clinical responsibilities of an Operating Room Registered Nurse while serving as a subject matter expert within their assigned specialty.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and organize daily workflow within the assigned specialty to maximize productivity while maintaining high standards of quality patient safety and customer satisfaction.
• Serve as the specialty resource and subject matter expert providing guidance technical expertise and support to nursing and surgical team members.
• Support the development implementation and monitoring of performance improvement initiatives using PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) methodology to enhance operational efficiency and patient outcomes.
• Monitor compliance with departmental policies procedures quality standards safety protocols and regulatory requirements taking corrective action when needed.
• Assist with accreditation and regulatory readiness activities and support ongoing compliance monitoring within the department.
• Coordinate orientation and training programs for new team members students and existing staff ensuring all required competencies and training checklists are completed.
• Oversee annual mandatory education requirements and competency assessments ensuring completion and proper documentation.
• Collaborate with leadership to evaluate team member performance by providing feedback identifying coaching opportunities and supporting counseling or corrective action processes when appropriate.
• Assist leadership with the completion of initial and annual performance evaluations.
• Partner with department leadership to develop and deliver specialty-focused education programs quality initiatives safety programs and performance improvement projects.
• Maintain expertise in specialty-specific procedures equipment supplies and best practices while actively sharing knowledge with colleagues.
• Participate in the recruitment and interview process by evaluating candidates and providing feedback to hiring leaders.
• Promote a culture of teamwork accountability continuous learning and clinical excellence within the Operating Room.
• Support the operational success of the specialty by ensuring accurate procedure scheduling preference card maintenance equipment readiness and supply availability.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years OR experience.
• Able to communicate effectively pleasantly cooperatively and discretely with patients physicians team members and the general public.
• Able to work under pressure and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to relate well with people of diverse backgrounds training and experience.
• Demonstration of creativity initiative and problem solving.

• RN - Registered Nurse
• BLS - Basic Life Saving certification

Education

• RN Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
