Job Description
Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical

Schedule

Full-time, 5 days a week, 0645-1515 with weekend, call, and late shift requirements. If called in, the healthcare professional must be able to arrive within 30 minutes.

Assignment Details

SWGH reserves the right to cancel up to one 12-hour shift per 2-week pay period.

Requirements

• Current license by the state Board of Nursing
• BSN required
• At least 3 years of RN experience in an operating room environment
• Travel experience required
• Completion of ~70 Net Learning modules and passing ECG/Medication exam with a score of 80% or higher within one week of acceptance
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments according to established standards, including safety and educational needs.
• Direct and establish a collaborative plan of care based on assessment data and communicate this plan as necessary.
• Implement and evaluate the plan of care based on identified patient goals and outcomes, modifying as needed based on reassessment.
• Ensure all documentation is completed according to established standards using the appropriate documentation tools.
• Assess the readiness of patients and significant others to learn and implement customized education plans according to needs.
• Lead department or unit-based initiatives, including providing in-service opportunities or volunteering for project leadership.

Compliance / Notes

All functions performed must meet established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards.
