Clinician Trainee/ Clinician I (ICS)

Brief Description

The Clinician provides comprehensive mental health services to clients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of emotional and behavioral issues. This role involves delivering individual and group therapy, developing and implementing personalized treatment plans, and working collaboratively with agency partners. Additionally, the Clinician collaborates with clients to develop effective strategies for enhancing their lives and relationships, fostering overall mental well-being.

Qualifications

• Clinician Trainee - Graduation from an accredited undergraduate program with a major in social work, psychology, behavior analysis, or other related degree required.
• Clinician Trainee - Master of Arts or Master of Science degree in progress from an accredited graduate program with a major in Social Work, Counseling, or other related degree required. These degrees must be license eligible (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC).
• Clinician I - Master of Arts or Master of Science degree in progress from an accredited graduate program with major in Social Work, Counseling, or other related degree required. These degrees must be license eligible (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC).
• BBS registration, licenses, credentials or like certifications must remain active and valid with their governing entity, if applicable.
• One year of experience working with children preferred.
• Knowledge of community resources preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Bilingual preferred.
• A valid California driver’s license is required of staff who have regular driving duties and the driving record must meet the requirements of their position and be approved by the agency’s insurance company.

Essential Job Functions

• Operate an agency or personal vehicle for work-related activities which may include, client visits, meetings, trainings, or other agency-related appointments
• Ensure compliance with driving requirements, including maintaining a valid driver’s license, current vehicle registration, and proof of insurance as required by agency policy.
• Ability to communicate ideas in oral and written form.
• Protect and honor individual integrity through confidentiality.
• Ability to work in a harmonious manner with subordinates, supervisors, and others.
• An ability to instruct in group and individual settings.
• Adhere to all applicable legal and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical services to clients.
• Utilize program specific screening tools, providing admission assessment and treatment planning for clients.
• Keep comprehensive clinical records that meet standards of the agency, The Joint Commission and contract.
• Collaborate with the referring agency or other community agencies working with the client to coordinate treatment.
• Must implement program goals and objectives to meet and maintain contractual requirements of maintaining a caseload of 30 clients with a 35% monthly productivity level.
• Effectively navigate and utilize all required electronic health records (EHR).
• Participate in scheduled peer review.
• Responsible for preventing and controlling infection.
• Responsible for maintaining a culture of quality and safety.
• Effectively use de-escalation skills and techniques for crisis prevention.
• Properly administer the C-SSRS to help prevent suicide.
• Interaction is appropriate and sensitive to client’s culture. Interaction is appropriate with client’s developmental level.

Other

• Attend all required meetings and trainings.
• Report any suspected child or dependent adult/elder abuse or neglect immediately to direct supervisor or utilize the chain of command if supervisor is unavailable.
• Report any client imminent danger to self or to others or gravely disabled immediately to direct supervisor or utilize the chain of command if supervisor is unavailable.
• Other duties as assigned.

Base Pay: $32.49-$52.19/hour
