Job Description Eligible candidates may qualify for a hiring bonus. To operate CT scanners, obtaining diagnostic images of specified body parts as requested. The technologist must be able to produce quality images for interpretation and function independently with minimal supervision. Responsibilities Communication/Customer Service: Greet patients, verify their identity, review pertinent history, explain procedures, and address questions to ensure understanding. Anticipate patient needs, keep patients and families informed of delays, and communicate professionally with all customers. Follow hospital policies and core values, striving to exceed expectations. Clinical Responsibilities: Position patients, operate scanners, and archive procedures per protocol to produce diagnostic images. Administer contrast media using proper venipuncture techniques, document medications, and ensure patient safety. Assist physicians with invasive procedures when applicable. Patient Safety: Use radiation-reducing techniques without compromising image quality. Protect patients and staff from radiation exposure, wear dosimeters, and adhere to safety protocols. Follow emergency procedures and maintain HIPAA confidentiality. Information Systems: Verify images in PACS, complete documentation, and operate RIS and PACS systems accurately. Perform tasks like burning images to CDs as needed. Department Responsibilities: Attend departmental meetings, maintain equipment, and assist with workflow improvements. Ensure credentials are current and adhere to policies. Additional Responsibilities: Access to patient records is limited to necessary duties, with strict confidentiality. Record access must be documented appropriately. Qualifications Graduation from an ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology program. Minimum 2 years related experience preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, sterile techniques, patient positioning, and operation of imaging equipment. Board certification by ARRT and Ohio Radiographer license required; CPR preferred.
