Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

We are seeking adedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) tojoin our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in helping patientsachieve their rehabilitation goals through effective therapeutic interventions.This position requires a strong understanding of patient care across varioussettings, including home health, acute care, skilled nursing facilities, andoutpatient clinics. The COTA will work closely with occupational therapists toimplement care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Responsibilities Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promoteindependence and improve quality of life. Implement treatment plans developed by occupational therapists,ensuring adherence to established protocols. Provide support in various settings including home health, acutecare, outpatient clinics, and skilled nursing facilities. Document patient progress and responses to treatment in accordancewith facility policies and regulations. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and adjustindividualized care plans based on patient needs. Educate patients and their families about therapeutic exercises andtechniques for continued improvement at home. Maintain a safe and clean working environment while adhering to allsafety protocols. Skills Proficient in assisting with ADLs and understanding the unique needsof patients across different age groups including geriatrics andpediatrics. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, andoccupational health principles relevant to therapy practices. Experience in various care settings such as inpatientrehabilitation, outpatient clinics, and skilled nursing facilities ishighly desirable. Familiarity with medical imaging processes as they relate to therapyoutcomes. Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication withpatients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
