Responsibilities and Qualifications Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Duration: 13 weeks Hours per week: 36 hours Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Unit notes: 4 openings Start date: ASAP Orientation: Every Monday Shift & Scheduling: Nights 6p-6a; Days 6a-6p Weekend requirement: 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule minimum Floating requirement: May float to ED or MS if experienced Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, Intermediate or advanced Fetal Monitoring Bed count: 7 L&D beds; 2 Triage beds; 10 Postpartum beds Births per day: 1-3 births per day Average annual births: ~830 per year Ratios: Typically 1:2 Experience requirements: 3+ years of experience; C-section experience required Support staff on unit: Patient Care Technician, Health Unit Secretary, OB scrub tech, HUC Clinical capabilities: Proficiency in fetal monitoring and actions for fetal distress; care for patients with pre-eclampsia; high-risk obstetrics background Cross-unit work: May float to other hospital units (usually Med/Surg) if needed Care model: Function in L&D and couplet care About Voca Healthcare As a Voca Traveler, you will gain new clinical skills, visit amazing places and meet awesome healthcare professionals.
