Job Title: Engineer II/Manufacturing engineer– Shift 1
Location: Gary, IN 46406 (Onsite)
Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Job Overview

Engineer II will support manufacturing process improvements in an FDA-regulated medical device environment, following design control processes, engineering best practices, and documentation standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Improve manufacturing performance (OEE, uptime, scrap reduction)
• Support production processes and project timelines
• Assist with CAPA tasks and root cause analysis
• Act as technical expert for production line
• Create/edit production documentation
• Support continuous improvement initiatives
• Conduct analysis and propose solutions
• Participate in validation and qualification activities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology (STEM)
• 2–4 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (automation, molding, assembly)
• Familiarity with Six Sigma tools (DOE, Gage R&R, Process Capability)
• Strong technical writing & problem-solving skills
• Mechanical aptitude and design understanding
• SolidWorks proficiency preferred

Preferred

• Medical device industry experience
• FDA QSR familiarity
• Validation experience (IQ/OQ/PQ)

Work Environment

• Onsite role (Gary, IN & Highland, IN during transition)
• Permanent location: Highland, IN
