Electrical Designer – Semiconductor Tool Install

Location: Boise, ID
Onsite Preferred | Hybrid Available | Remote Considered for Highly Qualified Candidates

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer with semiconductor tool install experience to support a major semiconductor manufacturing project in Boise, Idaho. This position is focused specifically on tool install design package production and is not a 3D BIM Modeler or BIM Coordinator position.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience developing electrical tool installation packages and can take tool requirements and translate them into accurate, constructible drawings and design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and produce electrical tool install design packages , including sheets, plans, details, and supporting design documentation.
• Develop electrical designs supporting semiconductor manufacturing equipment and tool installations.
• Coordinate electrical requirements including power distribution, equipment connections, panels, feeders, grounding, controls interfaces, and associated tool utilities .
• Review tool requirements, equipment documentation, existing conditions, and design criteria to develop constructible installation packages.
• Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, process, architectural, structural, controls, and other tool install disciplines.
• Identify and resolve design conflicts, routing constraints, equipment clearances, and installation issues.
• Review and incorporate field conditions, design comments, and project changes into electrical design packages.
• Open, navigate, and understand 3D coordination models using Navisworks, Forma, or similar model-viewing applications.
• Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews and tool coordination meetings.
• Support design revisions and construction-related design clarifications throughout project execution.

Qualifications

• Semiconductor tool install design production experience required.
• Experience personally producing sheets, plans, details, and complete tool install design packages .
• Strong understanding of electrical systems associated with semiconductor manufacturing equipment and tool installation.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and multidisciplinary construction/design documentation.
• Ability to open, navigate, and understand 3D models using Navisworks, Forma, or similar viewing applications .
• Experience coordinating electrical scope with other tool install disciplines.
• Strong communication, organization, and design coordination skills.
• Semiconductor fab, cleanroom, or advanced manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• 3D BIM modeling experience is a plus but not required.

Work Arrangement

Onsite in Boise is preferred. Hybrid arrangements are available for qualified candidates, including a potential 2-weeks-on / 2-weeks-off schedule .

Temporary relocation assistance is available. Highly qualified candidates may also be considered for 100% remote work, although remote is the last preference.

Candidates with relevant semiconductor/tool install experience in Upstate New York, Dallas, Chandler/Ocotillo, Santa Clara, Hillsboro, and other semiconductor markets are encouraged to apply for the hybrid opportunity in Boise.

Project

This is a long-term semiconductor tool install design opportunity with an anticipated duration of at least one year . The project is actively hiring, with qualified candidates able to start as soon as available.
