Parking Services Representative

Job No: 503840 Work Type: Staff Full Time (1500 hours or greater) Location: Dayton, OH Category: Bargaining Unit, AFSCME Department: Parking Services - 801355 Pay Grade: 1 - Non Exempt (BU Parking) Advertised: August 31, 2026 Applications close: Open until filled Position Summary: Position Summary: Greeting and assisting visitors, issuing permits to the University community, enforcing parking rules and regulations, issuing parking citations, impounding vehicles, and assisting motorists. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. One year experience with customer service and/or public relations. Experience working independently. Experience effectively dealing with conflict and complaints. Effective written communication skills. Physically able to perform the duties of the position including stooping, lifting, and walking/standing for hours in all kinds of weather. Possess a valid driver's license and operate a vehicle in all weather conditions. Preferred Qualifications: While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following: 2+ years Demonstrated successful experience with customer service and public relations. Prior experience in parking/traffic enforcement in a University setting. Ability to make judgmental decisions based on the situation and applicable regulation. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively using a two way radio, and face to face with customers. Effective interpersonal communication skills. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The University does not provide work visa sponsorship for this position.
