Gauge Lab Technician

Position Summary Working under direct supervision, the Level 1 Gauge Lab Technician performs entry-level gauge lab duties to support the calibration and maintenance of inspection, measuring, and test equipment (IM&TE). This position is responsible for retrieving and returning gauges, cleaning and preparing gauges for storage or calibration, maintaining organized gauge storage areas, and assisting with other gauge lab functions as assigned. The Level 1 Technician learns proper calibration procedures, gauge handling, and metrology practices while supporting the daily operations of the Gauge Lab. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Work safely in accordance with all company safety policies, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Properly manage PPE by: Using the required PPE for assigned tasks. Disposing of used PPE in designated work center containers. Transferring hazardous waste containers to the appropriate hazardous waste storage location. Retrieve gauges from production areas following the gauge due list. Clean, inspect, and prepare gauges for storage or shipment for calibration. Label gauges as needed and maintain organized gauge storage areas. Assist with issuing and returning gauges to production personnel. Enter and maintain basic gauge information in the calibration tracking system. Assist higher-level technicians with calibration activities and other Gauge Lab tasks. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Gauge Lab. Learn proper handling, storage, and care of inspection, measuring, and test equipment (IM&TE). Follow established calibration procedures, work instructions, and quality standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Skills Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Basic computer skills. Ability to learn the proper use and handling of gauges and measuring equipment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to follow written instructions and work effectively in a team environment. Required Experience 0–1 years of experience in manufacturing, quality, calibration, or a related field preferred. Previous experience with measuring tools is helpful but not required. Education High School Diploma or GED required. Pay Range Minimum: $17.00/hour Midpoint: $21.25/hour Maximum: $25.50/hour Hours: M-F 7:30am-4pm #J-18808-Ljbffr
