Registered Nurse - Float Pool

Position Overview United Health Services (UHS) is seeking a Night Shift Registered Nurse to join our Float Pool, supporting Medical Surgical and Telemetry units. This role offers experienced nurses the opportunity to provide high-quality patient care across a variety of inpatient units, adapting to different clinical settings while expanding skills and expertise. Work Locations: UHS Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City, NY UHS Binghamton General Hospital, Binghamton, NY There is more than one location associated with this position. This is either because there are multiple openings at different sites, or the successful candidate will be required to float across multiple UHS facilities. Primary Work Shift: Night Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36 Compensation Range: $44.77 - $67.15 per hour, depending on experience ----- Sign-On Incentives: Up to $25,000 sign-on bonus for candidates who meet eligibility requirements. Schedule: Night 7:00PM - 7:00AM 36 hours per week Every third weekend Responsibilities: Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements and evaluates nursing care in managing a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse, when designated by unit assignment and consideration of factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost and impact. Educates patient and family in health promotion and disease management using available resources. Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to UHS Hospitals policy. Shares in responsibility for productivity and effective resources utilization including staffing, time management, supplies and services. Complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies. Actively participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Council, participating in improvement initiatives, and contributing to peer review practices. Actively engages in professional development, continuing nursing education, and completing all mandatory education requirements. Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice. Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. Performs duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned. Other duties as assigned.
