Mechanical Designer

CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Mechanical Designer. Type: Contract Job Title: Mechanical Designer Location: Wilmington, NC Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Wilmington, NC Pay Rate: Based on experience Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm Education: Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Description CTG is seeking a Mechanical Designer to design and modify mechanical equipment, components, and layouts for industrial manufacturing systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, mechanical drafting, manufacturing drawings, and equipment design . Requirements Create and modify mechanical designs, equipment layouts, and detailed manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor Develop drawing packages, machine part lists, build packages, illustrations, and equipment specifications Redesign components to resolve equipment interference, design issues, and installation challenges Prepare sketches and marked-up drawings and implement engineering design changes Apply knowledge of machining, fabrication, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems Interpret electrical schematics and translate engineering requirements into mechanical designs Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, vendors, and cross-functional teams Maintain a strong commitment to workplace and job-site safety Qualifications 3–5 years of mechanical design/drafting experience , preferably in industrial or manufacturing environments Proficiency with AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor Experience with mechanical equipment design, CAD drafting, layouts, and manufacturing drawings Knowledge of machining, fabrication, and manufacturing processes Ability to interpret electrical schematics Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, organization, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team environment Experience with precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures Minimal travel to vendor locations may be required Additional Information No third party resumes will be accepted Drug testing and/or other employment-related inquiries may be conducted CTG will consider for employment-qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
