The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong manufacturing background, a sense of urgency, and the ability to motivate teams while navigating the challenges of a highly automated production environment. Experience in body shop operations, welding, robotics, automation, stamping, or maintenance-related manufacturing processes is highly desirable.

This position requires flexibility to support 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts in a 24/7 manufacturing operation.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Leadership

• Foster and maintain a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead daily safety activities, risk assessments, and corrective actions to eliminate hazards and improve workplace safety performance.
• Promote employee involvement in safety initiatives and continuous improvement activities.

Production & Operations Management

• Lead and supervise a team of hourly represented employees in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Ensure production schedules, throughput targets, and operational metrics are achieved while maintaining quality standards.
• Monitor daily production performance, identify issues, and coordinate cross-functional support to quickly resolve disruptions.
• Drive accountability and urgency in addressing equipment, material, staffing, and production-related concerns.
• Manage workforce allocation, absenteeism, training, and staffing requirements to support operational objectives.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure compliance with product quality standards and manufacturing processes.
• Analyze production and quality KPIs to identify trends, prioritize issues, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Lead root cause problem-solving activities and champion continuous improvement initiatives using Stellantis Production Way (SPW) principles and lean manufacturing methodologies.
• Support kaizen events and waste reduction activities focused on Safety, Cost, Quality, and Throughput improvements.

Team Development & Employee Relations

• Build, develop, and coach high-performing teams through effective leadership and performance management.
• Maintain positive working relationships within a unionized environment and partner with labor relations as needed.
• Conduct employee training, development planning, and performance discussions.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, engagement, and respect.

Manufacturing Systems & Equipment Support

• Develop a working knowledge of manufacturing equipment, robotics, automation systems, conveyors, welding processes, and production technologies.
• Partner with maintenance, engineering, and support teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and minimize downtime.
• Understand manufacturing process flow, bottlenecks, fault conditions, and escalation procedures to support production recovery efforts.
• Utilize manufacturing performance data to drive operational improvements and increase equipment effectiveness.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to work any shift, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively interact with hourly employees, union representatives, plant leadership, and support organizations.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work extensively on the manufacturing floor, including prolonged standing, walking, and stair climbing.
