Compensation Range: $31.21 - $49.94

Compensation Type: Hourly

Position Summary:

This role involves providing professional nursing care in the surgical environment for patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute scrub functions, including selecting and managing instruments and supplies utilized during procedures.
• Perform circulating duties, which involve monitoring, documenting, and communicating patient conditions while overseeing overall nursing care before, during, and after procedures.
• Assist the operating physician with surgical tasks such as hemostasis, suturing, and patient positioning.
• Prepare operating rooms and ensure surgical instruments and equipment are ready for use.
• Implement evidence-based practices and scientific knowledge in nursing care, tailored to the specific needs of patients based on their age and clinical requirements as outlined in the department’s Scope of Service.
• As a nurse at our Organization, uphold the professional nursing standards defined in our practice model, utilizing the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to address the evolving health and nursing needs of our patients.
• Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited nursing school or equivalent educational background for licensing.

Experience:

• No prior experience required.

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly use speech for oral communication.
• Constantly stand and walk.
• Frequently lift, carry, and push/pull objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
• Occasionally lift and move objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
• Frequent sitting, reaching, and data entry.
• Regularly utilize vision for near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances, as well as color differentiation.
• Frequently use smell to identify odors.
• Regularly use hearing to receive oral communication and detect alarms or machinery issues.
• Occasionally engage in bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive movements of the legs and arms.
• Occasional driving and rare crawling or running may be required.

Required Professional Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
