Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job

Overview
Registered Nurse - PCU (Neuro/Neuro-Step Down) travel assignment in Atlanta, Georgia. Start date 07/20/2026 for a 13-week contract with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Shift: Nights, 2x3 schedule. This role supports neuro/step-down patients in a hospital setting, using EPIC for documentation. NIHSS in the CV packet is required to be considered, with neuro step-down experience preferred. May also consider a strong med/surg nurse with NIHSS, ACLS, and some step-down experience.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to neuro/step-down patients in PCU, monitoring changes in neurological status and responding per protocol
- Perform NIHSS assessments as part of patient monitoring and communicate findings to the care team
- Administer medications, manage IV lines, and monitor telemetry and hemodynamic status
- Collaborate with physicians, case management, rehabilitation, and ancillary staff to develop and adjust care plans; provide patient and family education
- Document thoroughly in the EPIC EMR, including vital signs, neuro checks, meds administered, and care plans
- Ensure patient safety and comfort, apply fall precautions, assist with procedures, and participate in shift handoffs with clinical leadership

Requirements
- Active registered nursing license in Georgia
- Minimum 2 years of experience in neuro, neuro/step-down, or related med/surg settings (strong med/surg with NIHSS and ACLS considered)
- NIHSS certification must be included in the CV packet and on file
- ACLS certification
- EPIC EMR experience
- Ability to work night shifts; weekend availability as needed for the assignment
