Position Overview

We are seeking a registered nurse with experience in Labor and Delivery (L&D) to work on a night shift. This role requires the individual to take on a charge nurse position, ensuring the smooth operation of the unit during the assigned shifts.

Unit Highlights

The selected candidate will work in a 12-bed Labor and Delivery unit, where the patient-to-nurse ratio is 2:1. The unit is supported by 1 unit technician on each shift and a unit secretary available during the day shift.

Shift Details

Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Workdays: 4 weekend shifts per month
Call Requirements: None
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery
Certifications:
- Active Texas RN License (temporary licenses will not be accepted)
- ACLS
- BLS
- NRP
- FM AWHONN
Preferred Skills:
- RNC Certification
- Experience with Meditech documentation system

Procedures Performed

The unit is responsible for circulating C-sections among other labor and delivery responsibilities.

Dress Code

Scrub color will be provided by the facility. The following guidelines must be adhered to:

Nail Policy: Clean and healthy nails.
Hair: Must be neat and clean without extreme styles or colors. Beards, mustaches, and sideburns should be neatly trimmed.
Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible. Those that cannot be covered will be addressed individually.
Piercings: Visible piercings, other than earrings, are prohibited.

Other Policies and Guidelines

Floating Guidelines: Staff may be required to float to different units as needed.
Attendance Policies: Adherence to attendance policies is mandatory.
