Experienced Vehicle Mechanic, Level 2 or 3

Full-time, year-round position with a schedule of 5 days/week in winter and 4 days/week in summer. Early morning shifts for snow removal and weekends/holidays during the winter season are required. Pay ranges from $27.00/hr to $37.00/hr based on experience and qualifications. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis until the position is filled.

Join our family-owned ski area's vehicle maintenance team, where you'll keep the wheels on the buses, the snowcats on the trails, and the snow out of the parking lots among other things!

The Experienced Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic independently diagnoses, repairs, and maintains Loveland Ski Area's diverse fleet of buses, snowcats, heavy equipment, snowmobiles, ATVs/UTVs, trailers, and support vehicles. This position performs advanced troubleshooting, mentors less experienced mechanics, and participates in snow stake assessments and snow removal operations to support safe and efficient mountain operations. This position plays a key role in maintaining equipment reliability and operational readiness through technical expertise, quality workmanship, and a commitment to safety. Essential functions include independently diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and diesel emissions systems, performing advanced preventive maintenance and major component repairs, troubleshooting and resolving difficult equipment failures, providing technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced mechanics, participating in snow stake assessments and operating snow removal equipment, maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with regulations, coordinating with vendors and repair facilities, and assisting other departments as needed.

For Level 3 Mechanic, all of the above responsibilities apply, with additional advanced/complex maintenance, leading major repairs, fabrication projects and component replacements, inspecting the work of others, providing field leadership, and more.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, progressively responsible experience in vehicle maintenance, advanced mechanical aptitude, proficiency in using various tools and equipment, strong knowledge of diesel engines and electrical systems, ability to read and interpret technical manuals, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to prioritize and maintain quality workmanship, commitment to safety and continuous learning, and ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
