Senior QA Engineer

Job TitleWhat You'll DoPlan and execute hands-on functional, regression, integration, and solutions testing for USP and VS/Acuity releasesWrite and maintain test plans and test cases covering new features, failure scenarios, upgrades, and customer-representative configurationsDesign, build, and maintain solutions test rigs that replicate real-world surveillance deployments, including VMS integrations, camera simulation, and multi-node cluster configurationsPerform security and vulnerability testing, including validating fixes for scan findings and hardening requirements common in enterprise and government deploymentsExecute VMware certification and compatibility testing (vSphere/ESXi qualification, live migration, HA/failover validation)Manage the QA lab environment, including rig assignments, scheduling, hardware inventory, and component replacements (drives, NICs, controllers, nodes)Assign and coordinate test tasks across the QA team, track execution progress, and provide clear release-readiness and quality status updatesReproduce and investigate customer-reported issues and escalations spanning virtualization, storage, networking, and operating systemsContribute to product and support documentation, including test procedures, known-issue write-ups, and field-facing technical contentDevelop and deliver training on products, test procedures, and lab practices for QA team members and cross-functional partnersWork closely with development, support, and field teams to drive issues to resolutionWhat You Bring5+ years of QA engineering experience, including time in a senior or lead capacityStrong hands-on manual testing background with enterprise software, storage, virtualization, or infrastructure platformsExperience building and managing physical test environments — server hardware setup, cabling, component replacement, and lab logisticsSolid working knowledge of VMware environments (vSphere, ESXi, vMotion, HA/DRS) and hyperconverged infrastructure conceptsStrong hands-on experience with Linux and Windows Server environmentsFamiliarity with networking fundamentals (VLANs, bonding/teaming, iSCSI, multicast) and storage concepts (RAID, erasure coding, block/file storage)Experience writing clear, thorough test plans and test cases, and documenting results for engineering and executive audiencesExperience with security/vulnerability testing and remediation validation (e.g., Qualys, Nessus, or similar scan tooling)Demonstrated ability to coordinate work across a team — assigning tasks, tracking progress, and mentoring junior engineersStrong communication skills and the ability to work across engineering, support, and customer-facing teamsNice to HaveDirect experience with video surveillance products or VMS platforms (Milestone, Genetec, Avigilon, or similar)Experience testing hyperconverged or clustered systems, including node failure, fencing, and live-migration scenariosFamiliarity with virtualization certification programs (VMware Ready, hardware compatibility qualification)Test automation or scripting experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to supplement manual test executionExperience supporting enterprise customer escalations, including issue reproduction and root-cause investigationFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and defect tracking tools (Jira or similar)Why QuantumAt Quantum, you'll work on technology that protects people, assets, and infrastructure in some of the most demanding surveillance environments in the world.
