Cheeky's is a neighborhood seafood restaurant and oyster bar set along St. Petersburg's Grand Central District. A mix between a salty Old Florida fish shack and a classic New England oyster bar, with a menu of classic American dishes and something for everyone. We are excited to bring a fresh dining experience to the community, featuring a menu inspired by simple and classic American dishes, seasonal ingredients and bold flavors. Our restaurant is dedicated to creating a warm and inviting atmosphere where guests can enjoy exceptional food and service. Behind the bar we're shaking up classic drinks and serving frozen cocktails. Our wine list is full of small production and natural bottles. Light local beers on tap and a deep list of no & low alcohol drinks round out the menu. We're an easy-going spot with friendly service, good for the whole family. Grab a seat along our sidewalk patio for great people watching (dog-friendly too!) or in the dining room surrounding our horseshoe bar. JOB DETAILS

Our cooks lead busy stations during, before, during and after service with a close eye on consistency and quality. You'll have a great relationship with your Sous Chef and Executive Chef, who will provide clear expectations and support to exceed in this role. Assisting in preparing meal ingredients, which includes washing, peeling, cutting, and slicing fruits and vegetables as well as marinating meats. Preparing all foods as directed by the head chef and company standard. Plating and garnishing meal items in accordance with the instructions provided by the head cook. Collaborating with cooks to ensure that all given tasks are completed in a timely manner. Ensuring that all cooking stations are adequately stocked with the necessary meal ingredients and cooking equipment. Ensuring that all cooking stations and kitchen surfaces are cleaned and disinfected before and after each shift. Adhering to standard food rotation practices to reduce food wastage and minimize the risk of contamination. Assessing the quality of delivered food supplies to ensure that it meets restaurant standards.

SKILLS

Minimum 1-year cooking experience required Active Food Handlers certificate required High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations Ability to work as part of a team and in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and leadership skills Ability to prioritize job duties and manage time effectively

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods Frequent reaching, bending, and stooping required to serve guests and perform side work. Must be able to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds regularly, such as trays with food and beverages. Ability to move quickly and efficiently between dining and kitchen areas. Manual dexterity required for handling small items (e.g., glassware, silverware) and operating point-of-sale (POS) systems. Work is performed in a fast-paced, indoor and outdoor environment that may include exposure to varying levels of noise and temperature changes.
