Clinical Supervisor
The Jewish Board's Community Behavioral Health treatment programs provide compassionate, high quality, evidence-based services to individuals and families in the communities we serve. Our staff uses a culturally competent, person centered approach to help individuals and their families develop skills and resources to improve overall functioning, to instill hope, and to strengthen resiliency. Our programs work closely with community partners to address health disparities in our neighborhoods while also celebrating the strengths and resilience of our communities. Our children's community residences are single site residence's that provide group living for eight children and/or adolescents. The program provides a supervised, trauma informed therapeutic environment which seeks to develop the resident's skills and capacity to live in the community and attend school/work as appropriate.
The Clinical Supervisor must be a licensed clinician in New York State working directly with the youth residing in the community residence (CR) as well as their families/resources in collaboration with their community health providers. All responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the standards of regulatory bodies and of the Jewish Board.
Key Essential Functions
- In collaboration with the director, interview and assess youth and their families in the matching process when referred to the community residence.
- Will partner with the case manager, medical staff and out- patient providers to perform the necessary assessments and documentation associated with the intake process to complete the admission of youth to the program.
- Will supervisor the case-managers at all 4 Community Residences.
- Compete daily, weekly and monthly documentation in the appropriate system
- Upon intake, will complete trauma informed clinical profiles of clients.
- Assist in orienting families and/ or other supportive resources of the youth to the services provided by the program and to ensure collaboration with the youth's families and community resources.
- Develop culturally affirming, trauma informed, individualized service plan for each youth in the program in collaboration with the youth, their families/resources, school, outpatient mental health providers, and other community providers.
- Will work collaboratively with community partners to ensure excellent client care.
- Complete psychosocial assessments to identify client strengths, behavioral health needs, recommend services and interventions to meet the client needs.
- Provide crisis intervention, as needed.
- Assess program trends with Directors and CPI and provide program with needed clinical interventions.
- Work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary therapeutic team.
- Liaise with families, schools, healthcare providers, hospitals, criminal justice, and other community agencies to coordinate care.
- Perform these services in the community residence, family/resource's home, community and via telehealth (when applicable).
- Participate in clinical treatment team meetings, staff meetings, trainings, and supervision.
- Maintain all documentation according to the standards and time frames established by the Jewish Board, regulatory agencies and/or funding sources.
- Maintain professional behaviors and ethical standards as established by licensing board, relevant professional association and the Jewish Board policies and procedures.
- The ability to travel and navigate the community to provide services where the youth and family will benefit most from the services delivered.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Additional Functions May Include
- Must attend, participate and successfully complete the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification and recertifications.
- Must attend and participate in the ongoing training and consultation of the evidenced based model utilized within the program.
- Provide supervision of youth and oversight of the program when assigned by a director level staff.
Educational/Training Required
- Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology. At least one year of experience working with children is required.

Experience Required / Language Preference
- Bilingual Spanish/English a plus

- Strong administrative skills as well as an understanding of mental health delivery issues.
Visual and Manual Dexterity
- The candidate should be able to read paper and electronic documents and perform significant data entry into various computer programs. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to travel independently using public transportation and/or vehicle.
Work Environment/Physical Effort
- Services are provided in the community and the office
- While the offices of the Jewish Board are accessible in accordance with the ADA, the sites to which staff may need to travel may or may not be
- Risks/hazards associated with the position are those which may be encountered traveling around New York City.
