Material Handling Specialist

Inbound Material HandlerThe Inbound Material Handler is responsible for unloading, checking in and stocking new inventory into the warehouse. These tasks must be completed to an efficient and accurate standard to ensure smooth inbound operations. This position requires use of our internal warehouse systems and various warehouse equipment, which may include Powered Industrial Trucks.HOURS: 2nd Shift: Tuesday - Thursday 4:30 PM - 3AM and Friday 3PM - 1:30 AMJob Location1520 Mitchell Ave, Albany, GA 31705We only accept W-2 candidates, H-1B sponsorship is not available.ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Unload live domestic deliveries from trailers using forklift equipment, or unload import containers by handUse our ERP system to systematically receive inventory accurately and efficiency, ready to be placed in storage rackingMove palletized product using pallet jacks/forklift equipment to organize the receiving dock, or transport product to other areas of the Distribution centerScan and place inventory in racking locations using forklift equipment and a handheld scanning device, ready for warehouse operationsOperate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, and computers, following all established protocols and promoting safe working standardsMeet all expected performance standards regarding efficiency, accuracy and quality of workMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and reporting any hazards to the appropriate leadershipWork closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goalsAbide by all company and warehouse policiesFlex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall operationPhysical RequirementsWork is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.QualificationsExperience1 year+ of relevant experience in a distribution environment preferred but not requiredHigh school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experienceEducationThis role does not require a degree.
