Requirements Robert Wood Johnson University New Brunswick need a Pediatric Cardiologist for ongoing coverage starting in October. Please list any anticipated procedures/surgeries the provider will be required to perform and anticipated volumes. n/a - potential for having to perform echo in the event a tech is not available Description of Work Assignment Provider needed for 1 week on call, per month. 168 hours Breakdown of Clinic Days/Sessions and/or OR Days Round on pediatric cardiology hospital in-patients, provide pediatric cardiology consultations, read in-house echocardiograms and electrocardiograms, answer and respond to all service calls, discuss all potential transfers and ECMO candidates with pediatric cardiology medical director, provide and receive sign-out Schedule of Days/Times Needed to Work/ Shift Hours Monday 8 am through following Monday 8 am, 24 hours x 7 days On call? Yes Patient Load Census driven Board Status Requirement (BC/BE) BC in Pediatric Cardiology Is there additional support staff? In-house sonographer performs echocardiograms during daytime hours (8am-4:30pm) Is the provider working solo or with other providers? If so, whom? Rest of the cardiology group will be performing out-patient/clinic duties. Provider will need to communicate with pediatric cardiology medical director Are there Advanced Practice Providers? If yes, is the locums provider responsible for them? Not at present Trauma Level of Work Location EMR System? Yes, EPIC Is the Clinic EMR Different from the Hospital EMR? Yes Please list any other additional information that may be helpful: The Locums physician for pediatric cardiology will assume the in-service and on-call duties for 1-week increments, 24 hours per day. They are not required to remain in the hospital setting outside of the hours of 8am-5pm if their presence is not warranted. They must have the ability to perform and interpret echocardiograms independently, and be comfortable evaluating and managing patients in the pediatric emergency room, pediatric floors, pediatric intensive care unit, and neonatal intensive care unit. For any patient who may need transfer to an outside hospital, or who may require the support of ECMO, the patient must be discussed with the pediatric cardiology division medical director prior to implementing that action.
