Job purpose

The Material Handler Lead is responsible for warehouse functions. This individual monitors the daily activities of workers, loaders, and forklift drivers while ensuring the loading/unloading of all trucks, pulling of material requestions, receiving and shipping of materials are completed accurately, safely, efficiently, and complies GMPs, company policies and regulations.

Duties and responsibilities

• Manage and direct the daily activities of workers, loaders, and forklift drivers
• Efficiently supervise the loading/unloading of all trucks safely, efficiently, GMP compliant
• Works closely with Production, QA, Logistics, et all to execute all planned programs
• Train and supervise warehouse staff personnel
• Adheres to all and enforces all policies and procedures relating to GMP, FIFO, HOLDS, and Expiry of materials 
• Maintain and improve Warehouse processes and procedures
• Manage and model the Safety Culture and strive for 100% Safety compliance on policies

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-years’ experience in a lead position, directing Warehouse activities
• 3+ years Forklift experience required with an excellent Safety record 
• Must be proficient with operating Stand Up Reach Truck
• Must have strong, positive leadership, communication, and organization skills
• Bilingual skills preferred, not required (English, Spanish)
• Must have strong PC skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and math skills
• Must be self-motivated with a high degree of integrity and be able to perform job duties with minimal supervision on a timely basis
• Past job performance must reflect dependability, maturity, initiative, positive personal 
• Demeanor and the ability to exercise good judgement
• SAP, ROSS, PLEX, or other ERP environment skill and abilities a must

Working conditions

• Must be able to work any and all shifts as directed.
• Must be able to work overtime as necessary, including holidays and weekends.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Must be an avid Safety Champion and adhere to all safety programs and procedures.

Physical requirements

• Must wear non-slip, safety-resistant work shoes.
• Participation in mandatory pre-shift stretches and exercises.
• Proper use of required PPE, including hairnets, beard nets (if needed), and safety gloves.
• Must wear all required PPE when working with equipment or chemicals that require personal protection.
• Physical ability to: stand, sit at a desk, walk around the facility, lift/carry up to 50 lbs unassisted, reach, kneel, crawl, and twist.
• Must possess the ability to see, hear, and communicate with associates and others using professional etiquette.

• Warehouse Supervisor/Warehouse Manager or Shift Production Manager in their absence
