Food Pantry Coordinator Title: Food Pantry Coordinator Location: Senior Center Weekly Hours: 24 Hours/Week (Monday-Thursday) Supervisor: Council on Aging Director Bargaining Unit: Non-Union Hiring Range: $20.40 - $24.72 per hour (DOQ) Summary The Town of Shrewsbury is seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our Council on Aging Department as the Food Pantry Coordinator. The Coordinator will manage daily pantry operations, ensure food distribution to seniors, maintain inventory, coordinate volunteers and partners, and provide client referrals. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily pantry operations, including scheduling distributions and assisting clients. Maintain accurate inventory, ensuring proper storage and compliance with food safety regulations. Coordinate with local farms, suppliers, and donors to secure produce and manage deliveries. Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers, enforcing food safety protocols. Organize community outreach, food drives, and special events with the Council on Aging. Provide excellent customer service, referring seniors to additional resources. Prepare monthly activity reports and maintain client confidentiality. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; preference for college coursework in social services, nonprofit management, or related field. Experience in food pantry management or community service roles highly desirable. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. Valid Driver’s License. Physical & Scheduling Requirements The role involves standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds, working in varied temperatures, and may require occasional evenings or weekends.
