Yard Forklift Operator

The Yard Forklift Operator is responsible for the internal transport of raw and finished pipe products within the warehouse and outside yard. The Yard Forklift Operator has a thorough understanding of product placement and organization, is considered a mentor and trainer for new hires; and can perform their job duties with little to no supervision.Duties/Responsibilities:Transporting raw and finished materials to different locations within the facilityOptimizing loads to ensure operational efficiencySecuring loads to machine before transportationAccurately and neatly assemble bundles for storage or shipmentAccurately label bundlesPicking and staging orders for shipmentAdhering to safety management standardsAdhering to production schedulesAbides by all Standard Operating Procedures and processesMaintains safe operations by adhering to all safety procedures and regulationsMaintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirementsMaintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needsOversees the training of new operators using role specific checklists; and provides feedback of new hire progress to production supervisor and other members of the management teamParticipates and attends meetings as required for training, safety, and recertificationsDelivers quality hands-on instruction and proactively maintains a safe and healthy work environment for new hiresMaintains open and honest communication; addressing questions and concerns; and fosters mutual respectPromotes compliance with SOPs, Safety Guidelines, Quality Assurance, and company policies and proceduresAll other duties as requiredRequired Skills/Abilities:Ability to effectively operate and maintain forklift equipmentExcellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to comprehend direction in both written and verbal formMust be able to measure dimension material thickness and part dimensions accuratelyMust be able to read and understand printsMust be able to read and understand measuring devicesBasic math skills requiredEffectively prioritize, schedule, and review workUnderstand and follow oral and written directions; communicate effectively both orally and in writingWork independently with little directionMeet schedules and timelinesMaintain routine recordsEstablish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with othersEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent2+ years' experience in a similar rolePhysical Requirements:Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walkingRequires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearingRequires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulationsRequires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reachingRequires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 75 poundsRequires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gasesYou should be proficient in:Forklift LicensedMachines & technologies you'll use:Forklifts #J-18808-Ljbffr
