Electrician

Your Job Georgia‑Pacific OSB is seeking to fill an Electrician position at our Fordyce, AR facility. The successful candidate will perform routine preventative maintenance and emergency or scheduled repairs on plant equipment, machinery, or systems, identifying and correcting problems before they cause a process shutdown or equipment breakdown. What You Will Do Troubleshooting and repairing electrical/electronic equipment, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems Perform routine and preventative maintenance on electrical equipment and machinery internal and external to the plant, inspecting for potential downtime causes Installing new equipment Recording maintenance and repairs in a computerized system and completing reports and work orders on time to keep accurate records Collaborating with operations to identify and prioritize maintenance needs Adhering to all safety regulations, including performing proper lockout/tag‑out procedures and actively participating in the safety program Cleaning up all areas of responsibility to maintain a safe work environment, using appropriate personal protective equipment (hard hat, eye protection, gloves, aprons, face shields, harnesses, hearing protection, flame retardant clothing, etc.) Working in a team environment with fellow employees, supervisors, and managers Following any other job‑related instructions and performing any other duties requested by the supervisor, including assisting mechanics or production operators as needed Willing to work any shift, including weekends Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) High School diploma or GED One or more years of electrical repair and troubleshooting experience in a high‑speed manufacturing, industrial, or military environment Experience with single- and 3‑phase electrical repair/troubleshooting up to 480 volts Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and electrical schematics Knowledge of NFPA 70E and OSHA requirements regarding electrical safety Experience troubleshooting and repairing PLCs What Will Put You Ahead Current forklift license or ability to obtain one within 6 months Three or more years of electrical repair and troubleshooting experience in a high‑speed manufacturing, industrial, or military environment Electrical journeyman or equivalent trade school certification Our Benefits Medical, dental, vision insurance Flexible spending and health savings accounts Life insurance, AD&D, disability coverage Retirement plan Paid vacation/time off Educational assistance Infertility assistance, paid parental leave, adoption assistance (subject to eligibility) Additional benefits may vary by region; eligibility is governed by the Summary Plan Description, policy, or guideline For more details, please speak to your recruiter.
