Summary

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing the location and focused on achieving the goals and priorities of the company and AB SGS. Priority is to ensure all location personnel has a robust understanding and adherence of company’s safety policies and procedures. Daily duties including product handling, scheduling, dispatch, order fulfillment, storage and inventory management, equipment maintenance, procurement and records retention. Responsible for ensuring successful day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

• In conjunction with Group and Simplot EHS&S function, ensures company safety programs (ex. CARE) is implemented, maintained, and regulatory requirements (i.e. DOT and environmental) are adhered to through weekly safety meetings, direct actions or management oversight. Ensures safety policies and procedures are communicated and followed along with maintaining and ensuring proper certifications
• Coordinates and performs plant, equipment and fleet maintenance work, loading and delivery of product to customers, receiving and unloading, warehouse inventory and storage functions, and/or duties related to the appropriate application of chemical and fertilizer products such as calculating product amounts and calibrating equipment
• Organizes day-to-day operation and determines work practices and procedures to optimize utilization of resources. Ensures coordination with the Market Manger and Crop Advisors to ensure efficient operations along with strong customer commitment (internal and external)
• Performs recordkeeping functions related to invoicing, inventory, scheduling, parts ordering, etc.
• Provides service to walk-in customers. Receives telephone orders from customers and Sales Representatives. Prepares product mix instruction sheets, Material Safety Data Sheets, and work orders.
• Makes product purchase recommendations to Supervisor/Market Manager to ensure adequate inventory to meet sales and delivery needs. Ensures appropriate receipt and recordkeeping of unit inventory. Performs physical inventory counts.
• Assist with unloading and directing of trucks for fertilizer deliveries incoming to our fertilizer and bulk chemical tanks
• Other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/manager

Typical Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for meeting the minimum requirements of the role.

Skills & Relevant Experience

• 2+ years of relevant experience 
• Agricultural background highly preferred
• Proactive, customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including managing out-of-the-ordinary assignments
• Creative problem solver with the ability to think critically and adapt
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License
• Must be able to lift minimum of 50lbs
• Must have mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute ratios and percentages.
• Must be willing and able to work Ag-Industry hours – overtime and weekends in peak season as required
